Who We Seek:

Based out of our Springdale, AR location, the Packaging Designer will be responsible for the timely design of customer packaging, executing preflight, and supporting production operations including operating the Tango Press HP FB15500 large format digital printing press and Zund G3 automated cutting tables.

Responsibilities:

In addition, the Packaging Engineer will:

  • Create innovative packaging designs that WOW our customers and solve their product packaging, display, and marketing needs.
  • Develop and maintain our packaging design database, including maintaining printing and cutting profiles for our digital production platform.
  • Build and maintain a database and schedule of projects within the design department and ensure the projects are completed on time. An important element of this is the communication of project details to all stakeholders (Sales, Customer Service, and Production).
  • Assist in the creation of the Tango Press Packaging Innovation Center: A creative hub dedicated to showcasing our design expertise, digital production tools, and speed to market capabilities.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements for increased efficiency, cost savings, reduction of waste, and throughput of all Tango Press systems and processes.
  • Participate in extending Tango Press’ functional production hours into a fully “lights out” capability.
  • Ensure that manufactured products meet and exceed quality standards that will delight our customers.
  • Ensure the production area and team are always “Tour Ready” and extra cleanup is not required. A 5S mindset is a definite advantage in this area.
  • Implement processes and practices in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Contribute to and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Participate in Leadership meetings as requested.
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales, Customer Service and Design Teams on project planning and execution.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Packaging Science, or related Degree.
  • 10 Years’ experience in packaging design, or exceptional portfolio of successful designs.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience preferred in digital large format production environment.
  • Design experience using Impact or similar Packaging CAD systems. Adobe Suite experience a plus.
  • Training and dedication to continuous process improvement. Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification experience in Lean Manufacturing is a big asset.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
  • Must have a strong safety mindset.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for business.
